My Surface is perfect for gaming because it is so versatile. From casual gaming to the hardcore, Surface is as much for fun as it is for business.  Here I’ll outline what’s available.

First up, casual games.  The evolution of yesteryear’s solitaire and riversii, what started as office distractions has moved to our pockets and tablets. Have a minute to burn? Play a round of Wordament, feed Om Nom, fling some birds, or rediscover an old classic in the new Minesweeper.  There are literally thousands of games in the Windows Store.  And don’t forget, Surface supports your favorite Flash online games too, so you can always tend to your farm.

Casual gaming? You betcha.

When you’re in the mood for something more exciting, Surface delivers hardware accelerated-graphics and full-featured games including Halo: Spartan Assault, Reckless Racing, Asphalt 8 and more.  Many more games are on the way with the recently-revealed partnerships with Gameloft and Amiga Games.

With Xbox Live running the show, you also see other benefits such as shared game history and achievements between your tablet, PC, phone, and console.  In some games you can even switch devices and pick up the action where you left off.

Finally, my favorite feature:  you can even plugin a wired Xbox 360 controller, thanks to the full size USB port  on the Surface.  This is absolutely perfect for entertainment on the go.  I bring my Surface to hotel rooms, it’s easier than lugging around an Xbox.  Plus I can  pack the controller and keep playing on the airplane with touch controls!  It’s great both ways!

Plug a wired Xbox 360 controller into your Surface for rich gaming experience!
