What we believe
Because we allow and encourage freedom of thought and opinion, not all of our members agree on every theological issue. However, most of our members would say:
- We believe that God has revealed His love and will most clearly and uniquely through His Son Jesus.
- We believe Jesus to be the Christ, the One chosen and sent by God to be our Savior and Lord.
- We believe that as a People of Faith we find our unity and oneness in Jesus Christ.
- We believe the Bible to be authoritative for faith and life, and that through it we may hear Gods Word to us.
- We believe it is the responsibility of each Christian to read and study the Bible carefully and prayerfully, and to take its message seriously.
- We believe that faith and reason go together and that Christians should seek to develop a faith that is both dynamic and sensible.
- We believe that salvation comes by our faith in Jesus Christ and Gods grace expressed through Him.
- We believe faith to be more like a journey than a destination, that growth must continually occur in our understanding, service, stewardship, and commitment.
- We believe that of ultimate concern is the kind of persons we are, how we relate to God, and how we treat others of Gods children, and that Christian fellowship, worship, Bible study, and prayer are aids toward that end.
- We believe that Baptism of Water is symbolic of an inward faith; and that all Baptism is affirmed, but Immersion is preferred.
- We believe that the Celebration of the Lords Supper is to be offered weekly and is encouraged whenever Christians gather.
